The Clapper -
pretty well satisfiedby Out of the
dark!
in Cincinnati Ohio on 11/26/08Pros: Easy To Install, Improves Functionality
Cons: No sensitivity control
Best Uses: Small Rooms
Describe
Yourself: Budget Shopper
Bottom Line: recommended
I just use this in the away mode in my
garage so when I walk out there the sound of opening the door or I just
say something and the light comes on. Works pretty good for this. I
wish it had a sensitivity control and a setting to adjust how long the
light stayed on. These would make the product better, but, all in all
not bad. I have never used it in the clap mode so I can't rate that.

Great For the
Christmas Tree Lightsby Dancing
Machine
in Milwaukee, WI on 10/11/08Pros: Improves Functionality
Describe
Yourself: Budget Shopper
Bottom Line: recommended
I hooked up a Clapper to my Christmas
Tree lights last year and not only was it a godsend that I didn't have
to bend down to flip on the power strip, but it was very entertaining
as well. Everyone that came over laughed that I had one but were
impressed with what it could do. I'm going to buy one for my daughter
this year.

Love the clapper! We have a front room
light that is hard to get to, and now we just clap. It's nice when you
walk into a dark house and you can clap rather than stumble.

Wonderful productby Marlene

Bottom Line: recommended
I received this for Christmas 3 or 4
years ago, and I love it. The light next to my bed is plugged into it,
and I use it every night. It is useful to be able to turn the light on
as I enter the room, and to turn off the light from the bed without
having to find a remote control. I have learned to turn it on and off
by making clicking sounds with my tongue (like riders use with horses.)
I have it set at the three setting (takes three clicks or claps), so
there are less false positives than when it is set to respond to only
two claps. The device lights up with each acceptable sound, so it helps
to watch for the three lights to turn on, one by one, as you learn to
make the best sounds. My husbands claps to turn it on on off, and a
couple times has had the light go off in response to his coughs, but we
find that humorous. We have never had it come on in the middle of the
night. I find "The Claper" very, very useful, and will be getting
another one.

I bought the
clapper ...by Anonymous
in Undisclosed on 8/22/07I bought the clapper because I have
arthritis. It often malfunctioned; if I coughed in the middle of the
night it would come on. If I was listening to music the light would
blink on and off. Sometimes it was so exasperating, other times,
comical.

put it on the bedroom light and the light came on in the middle of the
night. My dog jumped up on the bed. Forget this thing.

in Undisclosed on 4/29/07I always wanted one of these so one
christmas I got it to turn the tree on and off. It was hysterical when
someone would say something a certain way and the lights would turn
off, then we would laugh and the lights would turn back on again. It
made the christmas one to remember, but I returned it immediately.

in Undisclosed on 10/7/05I love this for when we go away for the
night; it has a feature where if it hears any sound you can have it
work to turn the lights on. I love that the second I walk in the door
the lights are on. The clapping feature also works great once you get
the hang of it. You need loud, clear claps. It's nice for hard-to-reach
things (like the Christmas tree).

This is a silly

in Bandon, OR on 4/6/04This is a silly and a not-very useful
item. Walking across a hard wood floor can set it off. Sometimes
clapping REALLY hard doesn't. Do yourself a favor and go to a hardware
store and look for some other option. I think this is a stinker.
